iScreensaver Designer 6.0 is Released.

LOS ANGELES, 30 April 2019 - Multimedia software author Xochi Media Inc announces the release of iScreensaver Designer version 6.

First released in 1998, iScreensaver Designer is a cross-platform screensaver editor for Macintosh and Windows. iScreensaver Designer will convert images, movies, livePhotos, and animated 3D models into a screensaver with user-friendly installers for both macOS and Windows platforms. iScreensaver offers features not available in any other screensaver engine.

"Screensavers originally were created to prevent screen burn-in with CRT monitors. Improvements in LCD screen technology removed this need, but by then screensavers had taken off as an art form. Today, modern OLED screens again are vulnerable to burn-in, meaning screensavers are not just fun, but are again necessary and functional," explains creative director Brett Spivey.

Version 6 is a major new release that provides support for the latest hardware and software updates: Windows 10 and macOS Mojave 10.14. All iScreensaver users are encouraged to upgrade to version 6.

Features in iScreensaver Designer version 6

• Modern OS Support: iScreensaver 6 is designed and tested for the latest Operating Systems:
  Windows 7 through 10 and macOS El Capitan 10.11 through macOS Mojave 10.14.
• New licensing options: Subscription and non-subscription, including a new inexpensive "Home" license for personal use.
• Dark Mode: a new 'dark mode' look for built screensaver installers (all OSs), and optional Dark Mode support for iScreensaver Designer (macOS Mojave only).
• 4K UHD Image support: the new 3D playback engine supports up to 4K textures (4096x4096) and Ultra-High-Definition quality (modern GPU and up-to-date drivers required).
• Panorama Image Support: supports 240 and 360 degree panorama images with 3D motion effects.
• Multi-Monitor Support: screensavers can play on all monitors. Preferences allow user enabling and disabling of each monitor as desired.
• Mouse/Trackpad support: Small mouse motions can be used to control the screensaver using the Heads-Up-Display (HUD). Large mouse movements exit the screensaver (sensitivity adjustable).
• 3D model import - using standard GLTF / GLB file formats, import 3D models with animation.
• Single-File EXE / SCR: the windows screensaver is built as a single-file EXE, and installs as a single-file SCR. This greatly simplifies installation and delivery options.
• Photos.app integration: Live Photos, Panoramas, and improved support for drag & drop and metadata import [macOS only].
• Overlays effects: Images & Text captions can use full 3D motion effects.
