iScreensaver
iScreensaver has been updated to version 6.8.5.1360

iScreensaver version 6.8.5 has a number of bugfixes and improvements, including fixes for several issues that could cause issues when running under macOS Ventura 13 (currently in beta, soon to be released) Authors distributing screensavers for macOS clients should update, re-build, and re-distribute their screensavers. Authors only supporting Windows clients can upgrade at their convenience.

iScreensaver and macOS 10.15 Catalina (Beta versions)

edited October 2019 in General Discussions

macOS 10.15 Catalina is scheduled to be released this fall. At the present time, only a developer's beta is available and is under NDA. We are investigating compatibility.

Please note that others have reported that the first developer's beta of Catalina is "definitely rough and not just for screensavers. Roughest macOS initial beta in years..." and "...wait for Catalina beta 2".

See https://github.com/JohnCoates/Aerial/issues/801 for a discussion of another macOS screensaver having trouble in Catalina (this has nothing to do with iScreensaver, but is just an example of the general screensaver problems in Catalina Developer Beta 1).

We'll be posting information in this discussion thread as it develops.

Update: we have just released iScreensaver 6.1 which offers support for macOS Catalina. Although Catalina is still in beta, we feel comfortable recommending that all authors start using 6.1 in preparation for the official release of Catalina, expected in the Fall of 2019.

There are only a few small issues remaining with Catalina, please see the Release Notes for a discussion.
