iScreensaver Guided Tour

iScreensaver for Macintosh, Screensaver Options panel :

The Options panel controls various Audio and Video settings. The settings available depend on the type of screensaver (Movie or Slide Show) and were pre-set by the author.

  • Size (Not available with slide shows) :
    • Actual Size : the movie will play back at the same size it was created. This may be smaller than or larger than the user's actual screen size.
    • Proportional : the movie will play back at full screen size, or at the closest approximation which doesn't result in size distortions.
    • Fill Screen : the movie will play back at full screen size, even if this results in the size being stretched vertically or horizontally.
  • Audio Volume :
If the screensaver has sound, the slider changes the volume. Ranges from zero to one.
  • Video Speed (Not available with slide shows) :
Slows down or speeds up the playback of movies. Ê May cause audio to mute. ÊRanges from 20% to 500%.
  • Video Effects (Not available with movies) :
    • Normal : Plays silde shows as authored.
    • Use Fade Effects Only : For machines with limited RAM or slow CPU, uses simpler fade effects which reduce memory and processor usage.
    • Use Cut Effects Only : For machines with severely limited RAM or CPU, uses very simply cut effects.
  • Show Cursor (Not available with slide shows) :
Normally un-checked. If checked, causes the cursor to be visible during screensaver operation, and prevents mouse-clicks from exiting the screensaver. Intended for use only with Interactive screensavers (those that have onscreen buttons).
  • Run on Main Screen only (For multiple screen computers) :
If checked, the screensaver will only play on the primary screen. However if there is enough memory and hard drive space, running a slideshow with random images can be quite beautiful, since each screen runs a separate copy of the screensaver.
