Right I know I have a hefty screensaver 315MB but its been compressed and runs fine on both machines in quicktime. I'd prefer to have it this size as making it small means there is loads of banding which looks plop.

I've created the movie at half the screen resolution so 960x600 and have used the stretch to full screen mode in the installer.

If I Install of u beaut G5 intel mac with 10.4.11 and 6GB ram it runs perfect if distorted because of different screen res.

Machine I want to run it on is imac with 2gb ram.
screen res 1920 x 1200. It comes up with 2 distinct and unacceptable errors

1) there are massive horizontal lines that combine with huge flicker rolls of the whole screen reminisent of an analog out of tune tv channel.

2) there is a 10% of right hand side of the screen that is black

I presume its something to do with the size and/or ram but it seems strange it would cause rather odd effects if the quicktime movie runs fine.

Help please.

The quick way to tell if this is a problem within iScreensaver is to open the raw quicktime file using QuickTime player on the two macs, and play back in full screen mode on both from within QuickTime Player (you may need a QuickTime Pro registration code to do this, can be had from Apple for $30).

If you see the problems when playing fullscreen under QuickTime player, then the problem is not with iScreensaver, but rather some issue with that machine's video card, quicktime version, etc.

We've been hearing reports of incompatibilities with the Third-Party QuickTime Plugins Perian and Flip4Mac, so be sure to check for those (and update/remove if necessary)
