I just built my first screensaver and when I tried to install it the message;
"Could not find the application programme that created the document Untitled Installer" appeared.
Whats going on?

Can you provide more information?
(1) Are you using iScreensaver Designer or Classic?
(2) What OS are you running the program on? Mac/Windows, and what version?
(3) What OS are you building the screensaver for? (Mac/Windows)
(4) What is the filename that you are building?

I'm using the Designer version and am running the programme on mac OS 9.1.
I am building the programme for mac and windows.
At the moment I am doing a trial version of the screensaver and so just used the filename that was already there, Untitled Installer.
Eventually I hope to use the filename, ForeverChanges.

Have you recently rebuilt your desktop under 9.1? It might solve what you are seeing (it always helps me with similar error messages on other applications).

Restart your Mac.
Hold down the Option and Apple key (command key) until the dialog appears asking if you want to rebuild your desktop on your drives.

Then after all that, try your installer again...

Katy,

We have examined the file you sent. The clue to your problem is your report that "Norton Antivirus has been giving me warnings."

Unfortunately, there is a bug in Norton Antivirus which is flagging the build actions of iScreensaver as a virus.

You should either disable Norton, or contact them for the latest update, or else contact their technical support department and alert them to the situation.

We do our best, but we can't guarantee iScreensaver will work when you have added system modifications to your Mac OS software. As you have discovered, some of these products (such as Norton Antivirus) are buggy...
