Would love it if I could reproduce screensavers like the ones that ship with mac OSX.Can iScreensaver be modified to allow for this type of effect so that it works on windows and mac? IP: Logged |

This is a great suggestion, however the problem is that this effect is only compatible with Mac OS X (because it uses open GL and 3D hardware features only found on newer machines). We are considering such a feature, but be aware that the downside is it probably would not work under OS 8.6 or 9, or on machines running old versions of windows (95, 98, NT4, etc.) Would such a limitation be worth it to you? Definately. We would then be able to offer our clients two versions. One to run under OSX/WinXP etc (with the benefit of the Ken Burns effect), the other, simpler version for older operating systems. The big plus is that the OSX proprietry screensavers still have a big WOW factor. Great for pulling in new business. IP: Logged | |
