Every time I start the iScreensaver application - automatically installed in the Apple Menu - I get an alert from Norton Anti-Virus:

"Norton Auto-Protect Virus-like Activity. NAV detected an attempt to create or modify an application. The file affected is 'iScreensaver'. The currently active application is 'iScreensaver'. [Deny] [Remember] [Allow] "
This also happens when the Mac starts with the iScreensaver "Load program at startup" activated.

When I distribute my screensaver I DO NOT want to have this kind of alerts on my recievers Macs. Please tell my how to avoid ALL these kind of security alerts – if not possible, please tell me which security-applications the iScreensaver application affects and how.

Thank you

This is either a false alarm by NAV, or else your system may be infected by a virus. Which version of NAV are you using? Which version of MacOS are you using? Have you turned on any additional NAV warnings other than the default one?

- I use NAV 6.0
- The system is not infected by any virus/ii.
- MacOS 8.6 and MacOS 9.1
- I have not turned on any additional NAV warnings.

Bottom line is that NAV has a bug and is giving false alarms. Please report your troubles to Symantec and maybe they can help you fix it.
