Problem: If I make changes to a movie (either the stretch mode, the movie description, or the movie URL), these changes are lost when I switch to another movie or when I reboot.Solution: This is caused by one of two problems. (1) In order for the movie settings to "stick", you must be using a movie format that is editable. The movie format must be a proper QuickTime movie (type="MooV", Creator="TVOD"). Formats such as MPEG, SWF, etc, although playable by QuickTime, are not true QT formats. To solve this problem, simply follow these steps: (A) Open the file in QuickTime Player. (Note: You must have a professional quickTime registration code to enable editing). (B) Choose "Save As..." from the File menu. Rename the file and choose "Make Movie Self-Contained" (or "Flatten" if you are using QuickTime 4.0) (2) In some odd cases, there is an additional problem: Certain movie editing software appears to save the movie in a slightly invalid format. In this case, the iScreensaver software is unable to store the changed settings within the movie. To solve the problem, follow these steps: Open the movie in QuickTime movie player (make sure you have a Professional QuickTime registration so editing features are enabled), then choose "Get Movie Properties" from the "Movie" menu. Make sure the left drop-down menu reads "Movie" and choose "Annotations" on the right-most menu, then click "Add", scroll down to "URL Link" and enter some text. Save the changes, and from this point on the movie settings should "stick". IP: Logged | |
