I have built a screensaver and I have been testing it on various computers to be sure it works. I have been running into this problem on an iMac - The cd icon shows up on the desktop but then I get an error saying I need quicktime 4.0 before I can install. What is the solution for this problem. Will I have to have a notice on my CD saying that they have to install quicktime 4.0 before installing? Another thing is that I did not use any quicktime movies in my screensaver, I only used JPG's so I don't understand why it would be necessary to have this installed. I appreciate any help I can recieve. IP: Logged |

QuickTime 4.0 is required because it is used for handling of many file types (including JPEG images).Since QuickTime has been standard since system 8.6, it appears that the iMac you are describing has either a damaged system folder, or one of the users manually turned off QuickTime using the Extensions manager. There are no cases (that we know of) in which you will get that message unless a user has intentionally changed their system. IP: Logged | |
