Wow... there are a lot of options when saving from Macromedia Flash - which ones to use? What format to choose?Well, you'll want to save your movie using the "File : Export Movie..." menu item. When the dialog comes up, give your masterpiece a name - something better than "untitled.mov" - but it's good to keep the ".mov" file extension, especially for cross-platform compatibility.
Maybe try a unique name, because if you want to share it with friends and others on the internet, the name "myflash.mov" might be pretty popular.
You'll find a "Export QuickTime" dialog come up next. You might want to experiment, but we recommend matching your original movie size first (remember that Flash will match any size screen from whatever resolution you might have used - ie, your 320x240 sized movie will scale up to 640x480 just beautifully).
We use Auto for both "Alpha" and "Layer," but choose your own as you see fit. As for "Streaming Sound," there are more options under the "Settings..." button than we can possibly give recommendations for - experiment a bit! Note that choosing an "8 bit" size usually hurts the sounds a LOT.
Please use a "Standard" Controller - so that our preview windows have some user control.
We recommend turning "Loop" on, but leaving "Paused at Start" left off. If it's not necessary to be matching timings in either animation or with sounds, make it "Play Every Frame," but again, take our advice then test it for yourself. We do recommend a "Flattened," self-contained movie however.
Alright! Hit OK, and you are done. Build that screensaver, and if you like it a lot, share it with your friends! Good luck!
