What are the Differences between Licenses?
What is branding?All software, including screensavers made with iScreensaver, include information about copyright and licensing terms, in addition to the actual screensaver content. In addition, the screensaver Installer and Control Panel can include images, pictures and text that can be modified by you (the author) using the iScreensaver Designer editor.
Our higher-level licenses let you control more of this information, effectively "re-branding" the software for yourself (or your client).
What does this mean?
The Unlimited License allows one to change nearly all (*) artwork, website links, and even the "licensed to" name. This allows one to "Brand" the screensaver with your (or your client's) identity.
Can I remove ALL references to iScreensaver?
Even with the Unlimited license, some references to iScreensaver remain. This is necessary for legal reasons (e.g. copyright) and technical reasons. However, the remaining information is subtle and generally only can be seen if the end user goes looking for it. In normal use, the final screensaver will appear to be a creation of you (or your client).
Overview of Differences
Low Branding:Personal: Local distribution only (with messages on install and wake-up), no Alternate Content, very minor branding/customization.
Medium Branding:
Non-Commercial: Limited distribution (with message on install, under 10,000 units total), no Alternate Content, limited Branding with some customization.
Limited: Limited distribution (under 10,000 units total), no Alternate Content, limited Branding.
High Branding:
Unlimited: Open distribution, Alternate Content, complete Branding and customization.
Unlimited Site: Same as Unlimited License but includes: use Designer on multiple computers at a location, and Unlimited email-based technical support for one year from purchase.

Personal License

1. Distribution
The Personal License is for your own personal use in making screensaver installers for your immediate friends and family. No commercial use is allowed.
2. Installation
When you install a screensaver created with the Personal license, you will see a message indicating that this screensaver is for Non-Commercial use only.
Your friends and family will get this message box during installation with the Personal License.
3. Operation
The screensaver will function normally on your computer. However, if it is installed on another computer, each time the screensaver exits it will display a brief message that it was created with the Personal license. To get rid of this message, simply ignore it, wait for it to go away, click OK, or purchase a copy of a Personal License for that computer.
4. Customization
The Personal License does not allow most of the Control Panel customization options, such as changing the Control Panel picture or ''About this Screensaver'' text.
Non-Commercial License

1. Distribution
The Non-Commercial License limits you to 10,000 copies, and also prohibits you from using the screensavers in for-profit or commercial ventures. Giving away free copies of the screensaver is prohibited if you are a commercial for-profit entity. For details on the rules, please Read This Guide.
2. Installation
When you install a screensaver created with the Non-Commercial license, you will see a message indicating that this screensaver is for Non-Commercial use only.
Your users will get this message box during installation with the Non-Commercial License.
3. Branding and Alternate Content
Splash screens of both the Installer and Control Panel, as well as numerous places to adjust ''About'' text, are available for your Organizational Branding. Alternate Content is not available for the Non-Commerical License.
Limited License

1. Distribution
Limited licenses permit the distribution for up to 10,000 units, equalling the total of any combination of built screensavers. (This can mean the distribution of 10,000 units of a single screensaver, or 2000 of 5 different screensavers.)
2. Branding and Alternate Content
Splash screens of both the Installer and Control Panel, as well as numerous places to adjust ''About'' text, are available for your Corporate or Organizational Branding. Alternate Content is not available for the Limited License.

1. Distribution
Unlimited licenses allow you to distribute as many built screensavers as you need.
2. Alternate Content
Unlimited licenses allow you to build a screensaver that includes two different movies (or slide shows). The end user may unlock the Alternate content with an unlocking code. You can give away or sell these codes as you see fit. It's a great way to give users a free sample of a screensaver with paid content.
3. Branding
There are several places on the user's Control Panel where information can be further customized, to fully-brand the installed screensaver to your company or organization. They are all located on the 'Help' tab: the 'Help URL and Description' (for linking to the iScreensaver Support web pages), 'Software Information' (for describing your technical details of the software), and 'Software License' (for listing the actual developer of the screensaver - the default is the same information as the 'Software License Holder' when ordering). To customize in Designer, click on 'Control Panel' and then click on the 'Help' sub-tab.
Red arrows indicate the three Branding items that can be customized when you purchase or upgrade to an Unlimited License.
